KPA Services, LLC, a provider of solutions for risk management, including environmental health and safety (EHS) risk management, has acquired Louisiana-based Environmental Risk Management & Safety, Inc. (ERS). ERS offers consulting, auditing, and educational training to assist businesses in obtaining and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen KPA’s market share of EHS risk management services for the automotive market. ERS’s business is largely centered in the southern United States. When the acquisition is complete, KPA will be the largest EHS provider in the collision market. Its largest group, Boyd-Gerber, will have more than 400 locations.
KPA’s cloud-based platform, combined with interactive training and on-site audit/loss control services, creates a solution that helps more than 8,000 client locations achieve regulatory compliance; control risk; protect assets; and effectively train, retain, and manage people. According to KPA, the acquisition of ERS will also add new experience to KPA’s adjacent/new markets and greater geographic coverage of one of KPA’s key differentiators, audit/loss control services. ERS’ current services are complementary to KPA and will reinforce KPA’s dominance in the collision and auto dealer EHS markets.

In addition to EHS, KPA’s comprehensive automotive solution covers operational workflow as well as regulatory risks associated with finance and insurance (F&I) and human capital management (HCM). The company focuses on mid-market companies in automotive, manufacturing, distribution and logistics and insurance.
KPA Services is a part of the portfolio of CIVC Partners, LP, a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm. In August of last year, KPA acquired Automotive Compliance Consultants, a provider of environmental health and safety compliance and finance and insurance compliance solutions through proprietary a software-as-a-service platform and onsite audits. ERS represents the fifth acquisition completed by KPA under CIVC’s ownership.
