DealerMax Brand Acquired by Profit By Design Founders to Help Dealerships Expand Margins

As circumstances shrink dealership profit margins, many businesses are turning to consultants to reform operations in a way that can maximize profitability and reduce unnecessary expenses by making the most of current assets and best practices. The Profit By Design service is a consultation service that addresses all the biggest friction points in a dealership business to help it improve profitability. It examines and analyzes workflows, sales processes, strategies and objectives, customer retention and more. It also offers one-on-one training and coaching, large groups events, and intense multi-day works shop to improve dealership performance in sales, leadership, service and F&I.

Now, the founders of Profit by Design, Jim Maxim Jr. and Jim Maxim Sr., have purchased the assets of DealerMax and plan to use the brand to market the company’s dealership training and F&I income development programs to an expanded network of dealerships nationally.

“Now is the right time for this. Profit By Design and the Maxim team have a great formula for increasing dealer margins in sales and F&I,” said Hunter Malone, President of DealerMax, in a statement. “The company offers dealerships some of the most respected F&I training programs on the market today, and I am proud that the name will carry on with a family owned business with integrity.”

Jim Maxim Jr. will serve as CEO of the combined entity, now branded DealerMax, and plans to expand the company’s reach in the greater Philadelphia market as well as other major metro markets in the region. The company will keep the “Profit By Design” name for its F&I income development offering. It also plans to expand its services into digital retail consulting and sales and management training.

“The re-imagination of the customer experience that is taking place within the automotive industry right now is very exciting,” said Jim Maxim Jr. “Dealers need best practices, proven processes and excellent training for employees to help them transition and succeed with today’s consumer. We intend to expand our offering to help our dealers thrive in the rapidly changing marketplace.”
