In 2011, I was diagnosed with leukemia. It started with a routine check up, but just days later, I’d hear the words that no one ever wants to hear: “You have cancer.” My reaction was simple. I told my doctor, “Ninety percent of the cure is going to be my attitude and the other ten percent will be your medicine. I have my ninety percent, so you better have your ten percent!”
I am happy to say that after five years of chemotherapy, I am cancer free. There is no trace of the disease in my body, and it is because of my good fortune that I’ve made a promise to children who are fighting this terrible disease.
The Dave Cantin Group Difference is our commitment to donate five percent of all deal commissions to a local charity fighting pediatric cancer in the location of the acquired dealership. This is a cause very close to my heart. I believe children are the way of the future, and I won’t stop until the day when no child has to hear the words: “You have cancer.”
We deliver all of the donations directly to these organizations to ensure that the funds are properly placed. We do not raise this money; it is donated straight to the charities from the Dave Cantin Group.
As a past board member of various organizations including Hyundai Hope on Wheels and Hope & Heroes Columbia University Medical Center, I have been an integral part in helping to raise over $150 million towards the fight against pediatric cancer, and I’m not stopping there.
